This is a great reminder, Sarah, for women of all ages to model how we want the world to see us. I was taught, at a very young age by my Dad, to never allow a man to tell me what to do. He never did, even at my insistence to "tell me what to do". I had to figure it all out on my own. i have tried to model that way of being for the women around me. Yet, I see so many who are still afraid of themselves, unable to embrace their originality and power to become who they choose, not what others dictate. Love your writing style! Thanks for this tribute to Gloria Steinem and to all us women. WE CAN BECAUSE WE ARE WORTHY OF RESPECT!
Wow Bela, you had such a cool dad! I think mine was sort of the opposite... he believed we should all let him tell us what to do! 😂. It's a long journey for so many of us women to return to our own powerful originality. But a journey worth taking for sure.
I loved this essay Sarah💛. Thanks so much for sharing it. I'm younger but still about to enter 50 and I feel the call to continue lighting the path also. This felt like I was meant to read it💛🙏🏼!

Thank you for this beautiful tribute, and call to arms - not the weapon kind; our own strong & capable ones. ❤️
Yes!! Arms don't need to be weapons! Thanks for reading.
Well put Sarah! I was a feminist in NYC in the 70s and she was such a brilliant leader.
Wow! I didn't know you were in NYC in the 70s! Those were heady times. Did you ever see her speak then?

You are the perfect age to be lighting the path and carrying this wisdom forward Leah! I'm so glad my words inspired you. Great to be connected here.
